Unguided and Guided Backcountry Hut Skiing in Southwest Montana
2018/2019 Summer Update
Last season was a huge success thanks to our amazing customers! We are already accepting reservations for next season. Our availability calendar is located at the bottom of the page. Thanks!
Hellroaring Powder Guides offers unguided and guided backcountry skiing based out of our legendary ski hut. The Centennial Mountains feature miles of premier ski terrain on the Continental Divide with elevations over 10,000′ and an annual snowfall of 400″+.
The Hellroaring Hut is located between Island Park and West Yellowstone, in the Centennial Mountains. Getting into the hut requires an easy and scenic 7 mile snowmobile ride to access the trail head (snowmobiles are provided via an extra fee of $200). It’s a mellow 2.75 mile skin the rest of the way in. Incredible terrain is accessible just out the door. Our location provides immediate access to mellow bowls, perfect tree glades, and exciting steeps in the alpine. We’ve outfitted the hut with a wood stove, and a propane stove for meal prep. All cooking necessities including utensils and cook-ware are supplied to reduce your pack weight on approach. Sleeping arrangements are log bunks for 4, and a small loft for 2. Sleeping bags and plush foam pads are furnished at the hut also. Our solar system illuminates the hut at night, and keeps cameras and phones charged through the day.
- Guided trips, load hauling, and catering are available by request
- Hut Sleeps 6
- Nightly rate of $350
- All equipment use at the hut is included (sleeping bags, propane, wood etc.)
